It was a hospice before it was abandoned, after completion it will house a museum, a library and training spaces

The last use was as a hospice, then the collapse of a wing in December 1980, the death of some elderly women and, since then, abandonment and neglect. In the NRP, on the other hand, the Real Albergo dei Poveri in Naples is one of the objectives of the first measure, that of major cultural attractions. 76.5 million euro was spent.

Inside, there is a museum dedicated to Pompeii linked to the Mann, a 'public library' linked to the national library, and training spaces for students from the Federico II University of Naples and the Scuola Superiore Meridionale.
